I promise you that I shall remember such a Jeevan, who is my devotee, when he/she is on his/her last days, lying in the bed like a stone or wood; And I myself undoubtedly Bless him with the Supreme Abode.

The divine temple of Sri Lakshmi Varahar is situated at Natteri Village, near Brahmadesam, Kanchipuram Divya Desam, and Tiruputkuzhi Divya Desam in Tiruvannamalai District, Tamil Nadu. This temple at Natteri is more than 1000 years old. Vishishtadvaita Guru, Sri Bhagavath Ramanujar, who was born over 1000 years ago, is believed to have performed Pooja in this temple. This temple is the abode of Sri Lakshmi Varahar, Sri Komalavalli Thayar, Sri Vishvaksenar, Sri Garudar and Sri Anajaneyar (Hanuman).

Natteri vilage has a hallowed history. As many as 128 Vedic scholars were gifted with residential plots and farmlands by the Nawab of Arcot as honorarium and the village hosted a large Agraharam comprising six streets.

In a significant chapter of Natteri’s history, the village hosted two Jeers of Sri Abobila Mutt with their entourage in a grand manner for several days. His Holiness Srivan Satakopa Sri Veeraraghava Satakopa Yathindra Mahadesikan (the Hon’ble 43rd Srimath Azhagiyasingar) and His Holiness Srivan Satakopa Sri Vedantha Desika Yathindra Mahadesikan (the Hon’ble 44th Srimath Azhagiyasingar) were overwhelmed by the reception and the devotion of the elderly scholars of Natteri and showered their blessings on all devotees and natives of the village. In ancient days, the temple was a massive structure, with a big chariot for the Gods and the village was a personification of prosperity and great intellect. The above were also
confirmed in a prashnam conducted at the temple.

Over the centuries, the original temple did not stand the weather of time and Sri Varahar Moorthi, Sri Komalavalli Thaayar Moorthi were later found and placed in the Hanuman Anjaneyar Sannidhi. This Hanuman statue is one of nearly 700 statues installed by His Holiness Sri Vadiraja Swami, in South India.

The Temple Authorities, Trustees, general public and dignitaries, native to Natteri village, under the auspicies of His Holiness the Hon’ble 46th Jeer of Ahobilam Mutt, Srivan Satagopa Sri Ranganatha Yathindra Mahadesikar, have undertaken to rebuild the temple at its original place and the construction of the temple and associated structures is underway. To ensure that the temple stands the test of time, the same is now being built with ‘heavy stones cut from boulders.’ At present, the construction of Sri Varahar Perumal Sannidhi, Sri Komalavalli Thaayar Sannidhi and Andal Sannidhi are underway. It is estimated that the project would cost around Rs. 1 Crore. At present, daily puja is being performed in the Hanuman Sannidhi for all the Deities.

On 16th October, 2022, the Hon’ble 46th Jeer of Ahobilam Mutt, His Holiness Srivan Satagopa Sri Ranganatha Yathindra Mahadesikar graced the village and visited the temple with Sri Dolai Kannan, the idol worshipped by Sri Bhagavath Ramanujar and has Blessed all devotees and natives.

It is requested that all Aastikas involve themselves in this divine Kainkarya and receive the Blessings of the Almighty Sri Lakshmi Varahar. Donations are accepted in the form of cash or kind (materials, etc.) as per the details given below. Devotees who want to contribute materials may contact the Trustees.

I thank you very much for your visit and hope you will visit again to get the latest updates and new inclusions.

Though, here is a separate section for Astrology related matters, for Srivaishnava, Lord Sriman NArAyana is the main and only deity; Srivaishnavas/Srivaishnavites, who never consider any other Sub-Lords known as upa Devathas or Navagraha; it is for the general purpose I put here the Astrology Section. Howsoever, even for Srivaishnavites, the auspicious days and Muhurtham are much more important for all functions! Thus, I hope, Srivaishnavites do not consider the Astrology section as an unwanted one! Some of the Srivaishnava members, who accuse me of giving importance to Astrology, have certainly not read the stothras and meanings given by Sri Vedantha Deskar. The Vedic Script known as “Jadaka Paarijatham” was written by none other than Sri Swami Desikan himself!! Many Srivaishnava members are unaware of this fact and are mislead by the notion, that in Srivaishnavam, considering astrology itself is wrong. Even to perform the day to day rituals, and to add Sankalpams, every one needs to read the panchangam known as almanac to know the daily Thithi, Vara, Nakshatra, Yoga & KaraNa. These are part of Astrological notations.

The image gallery, with a wide collection of rare photographs of many Srivaishnava Divyadesam is exposing the intricate and divine craftsmanship of yesteryears. The photographs were taken with close up range and show the Temple & Towers of ancient temples of Tamilnadu, and of course, a few other North Indian temples. The 108 Divya Kshetrams known as Divya Desam of Srivaishnavas is also published in sequence with available photo and images of Lord. I hope, the Srivaishnavam culture, with its rich tradition and values, attracts every visitor. Thank you for your visit and support. Please proceed further to read the Essence of Srivaishnavam & Srivaishnavism.

A new addition in the FAQ section is provided for the visitors to put their questions related to Srivaishnavam Practices, Lifestyles and Astrology. Please do not send in your personal queries related to your horoscope or problems as the Astrology section is mainly to clarify some general doubts only about the celestial phenomena.

Utsavar: Soundaravalli Thayar, Andal, Srinivasar

Also there is a Separate Sannidhi newly constructed and sanctified for Sri Nadadhur Ammal, Anjaneyar, Thayar & Andal

Ladavaram is a small village situated near Arcot, just 5 km south east in the Arcot – Kaniyanur route. During the foreigners invasion, a Vishnu Temple in the village was damaged but the Sri Vaishnavas in the Agraharam, then consisting more than 100 houses in rows, managed to hide the Main Vigraha known as Idols. These Idols were buried to save them from the invaders. Later, when the time and political climate was cool, the villagers again reconstructed the main temple and installed the Idols. Sri Nadadhur Ammall, who personally visited this village and performed the ritualistic Thiru Aradhanam once.

After the younger generation left out in search of their survival and employment, the village nearly deserted and no one to take care of the daily pooja. However, of late, the younger generation, out of curiosity to visit their native home village, they found the actual remains of the temple and & the village in a shambles condition. Then and there, a committee was formed, some monetary assistance sought from many philanthropists and managed to get the temple reconstructed to its old glory. Or should I say, in a more fitting way! Many of the erstwhile Nadadhur Ammal family is now spread all over and I could not even locate their presence.

Hope, this web page gives them a chance to see their village. Ladavaram is the village where I was born, grown up; where my grandfather late Mukkur Srivathsarngachariar, was the Village Munsiff. My father Late Sri T S Ramabathran, (known as Sriraman) was the Post Master from the start of the Post office and later he took over as Village Magistrate, after my grandfather’s demise. My paternal Uncle Late Mr. T. Srinivasan was the Branch Post Master of this village till his retirement. My other two younger borthers, Sri. TR Rajagopalan and Sri T. R. Ravi Iangare are now well settled in Mumbai. Though, we belong to Mukkur Thattai family, it was my grandfather who migrated to Ladavaram Village then to settle. For some time, the above Temple was maintained by our family, where my father used to perform the Aradhanam and later my paternal uncle Mr. T. Srinivasan too performed the daily pooja after his retirement as Branch Post Master.

The Maha Samprokshanam of the renovated temple was held on 28th February 2007, in the presence of many devotees and a sizeable gathering, with all the ritualistic way, with Vedic scholars and Pundits performing the Homam & Samprokshanam. Still, the temple needs to get some fixed deposit amounts to maintain its day to day needs that are to be met from the interest earnings. Though, this Temple is directly under the Government Endowments Board’s control, the very minimum contribution allotted by the Government is not enough to perform the regular Thiruvaradhanam. Hence, the Trustees and the Villages formed the committee to collect some permanent funds for its fixed deposit. Anyone who wishes to contribute, especially all the Nadadhur Ammall descendants, may please send in your mites to the temple affair Management authorities at the following address:

Triplicane,

Chennai – 600 005

(Ph: 044 2844 0093).

The main and most active persons in the renovation of the temples are the ones who are blessed by the Lord. Though, there many other souls and persons involved in the renovation process, I would like to cite the names of two persons who were very instrumental in making the plans into action. it is in recognition of their selfless services and motivated and organized actions that brought the changes and made the renovations possible. They are:

Mr. L V Pattappa – Catering Contractor, Triplicane, Chennai
