Hello, if unknowingly or under compulsion anyone consumes Nonveg food, they just can cleanse their body by consuming Panchacavyam. This panchaCavyam is to be prepared with ritualistic way by reciting specific slokhas for each item viz. Cows urine (Gomutram or Gomiyam), Cows Milk, Curd, Ghee and holy water. Please check with your Vadhyar or Guru to make this one with a specific sankalpam. Then to perform a Gayatri Homam, i.e. after qualifying with changing the holy thread and consuming panchaCavyam, with minimum 1008 counts. Incidentally, according to old vedic scripts, a Brahmin can consume meat flesh that belong to creatures with Five Nails (Ooops – Dont include humans in this!) viz. Tortoise (Aamai – koorma), Crocodile (Mudalai), Udumpu etc. Also, during some emergency time like natural calamity, draught, war etc. a Brahmin can consume the mutton of specific animals. This is specifically said for Brahmins as it is mentioned in some of the Vedic scripts. There is always an exception for each and everything – especially for the Man made Law. So, worry not. Spread word about vegetarianism; make some habitual meat eaters to turn to veg. Try to popularize the benefits of Vegetarianizm, that itself would become a solace and prayaschitham for the offence committed, knowingly or unknowingly!
