In Order to release a Jeevan from his / her sufferings and Bless him/her with Moksham, the Divine Abode, Emperuman Sri Varahar made a sankalpam with the above Charama Sloka and told Sri Bhoodevi –“Hey Devi ! If any Jeevan (Human) thinks of ME when his mind is very sound, his body is in good health conditions, his mental and physical activities are functioning properly; And if he thinks that I am (Emperuman) the form of this entire Universe, and that I am without any Birth or Death thathvas, and I am Omnipresent; Hey devi ! I promise you that I shall remember such a Jeevan, who is my devotee, when he/she is on his/her last days, lying in the bed like a stone or wood; And I myself undoubtedly Bless him with Supreme Abode”.
Such a Wonderful Deity Sri Vaharar, as promised by himself, with a motive of Blessing the Astikas directly, has taken shelter in the Divine Temple situated at Natteri Village (near to Kancheepuram Divya Desam), near Brahmadesam, in Tiruvannamalai Distt, Tamil Nadu. This Temple at Natteri Village is more than 1000 years old as per the History. Our Vishishtadvaita Guru, Sri Bhagavath Ramanujar, who was born 1000 years ago, is blieved to have performed Pooja in this Temple as per the Elders’ account. This Temple is the abode of Sri Lakshmi Varahar, Sri Komalavalli Thayar, Sri Vishvaksenar, Sri Garudan and Sri Anajaneyar and these Deities bestow unbridled Blessing on the devotees.
Natteri Village has a hallowed history. As many as 128 Vedic Scholars were gifted with residentital plots and farmlands by the Nawab of Arcot as honorarium and the Village hosted a large Agraharam comprising six streets. In a significant chapter of Natteri’s history, the village hosted two Jeeyars of Sri Ahobila Mutt with their entourage in a grand manner for several days. Srivan Satakopa Sri Veeraraghava Satakopa Yathindra Maha Desikan (the 43rd Srimath Azhagiyasingar) and Srivan Satakopa Sri Vedantha Desika Yathindra Maha Desikan (the 44th Srimath Azhagiyasingar) were overwhelmed by the reception by and the devotion of elderly scholars of Natteri and showered their Blessings on them and the other natives of the Village.
At present the temple at Natteri is in a dilapidated condition due to its antiquity and has to be renovated or rebuilt at the earliest. The Temple Authorities, Trustees, general public and the dignitaries who are natives of Natteri Village, have taken a decision to rebuild the Temple and started the preparatory work for the same. It is estimated that the Project would cost around Rs.75 lakhs. It is requested that all Astikas involve themselves in this divine kainkaryam and receive the Blessings of Emperuman Sri Lakshmi Varahar. Donations are accepted in the form of Cash or kind (materials, etc) as per the details given below.
