Dear swamin
Thanks for your reply to my query on Mahalaya paksham tharpanam. I need one more clarification. I have to travel on 22nd and my train is at 6.00AM. Since I do Tharpanam on all the days want to know as to what and how to do the Tharpanam. Is it advisable to do early in the morning.

While performing monthly rituals for departed parents, I noticed Brahmin saying that one of the ancestors is released from the cycle while others are promoted. I did not really understand this concept. With so many souls departing this world, are they all lined up in the same way? But Bhagavad Gita says that soul moves further based on their karma. Could you please highlight the process followed by Vaishnava sampradaya?

I have been performing Mahalaya paksha tharpanam on all the days. Some one adviced to perform that in Hiranya shradha way.
I request you to advise me as to how to do the same along with Sankalpam for the same.

You may do so, after performing the tharppaNam. A change in the sankalpam is, instead of 'thila tharppaNa roopEna" ' BrahmmaNa bhojanaarthE, hiranya rooENa, daththa srardham adhya karishyE". Other formalities may please be obtained from your vaadhyaar.

Namaskaram Mama,
My name is Ramya, I am an iyer married to a Thenkalai iyengar. My in-laws doesn't know any of the procedures as they were working and now I have a daughter and wish to know the Thenkalai procedures to be followed.
My questions are:
1. What is the daily pooja procedure to be done to narayana? We don't have a saligramam. Just perumal photo.
2. Our vadhiyar advised us to buy vattil, but did not tell us it's usage. What it is used for and how to use it? Do we need to use all 5 vattil on a daily basis?
3. What neivedhiyam can be done to narayana on a daily basis?
4.our vadhiyar said that elakkai has to be added. Do we need to add it in the water or neivedhiyam?
4. What is the neivedhiyam mantram to be told?
5. Is there any books which advises about all the thenkalai procedures?
Kindly help me regarding the same.
